Laura Campbell is an Oxford based artist and MFA student who recently graduated from York St John University.

Her practice is informed by research into disability and personal representation, using writing, printmaking, painting, and performance as recurring expressive elements of communication. Her practice aims to contribute to conversations surrounding disability within the visual arts whilst researching how her own disability fits in socio-political spheres within the contemporary fine arts.

Campbell uses her body through performance and photography processes, creating a vessel to communicate concepts of ability, pain, and extension, whilst providing direct political commentary and discourse on social policy and accessibility. Her work aims to challenge patriarchal and ableist political ideology, whilst navigating her disabled bodily experience through the current political climates that force her to justify her existence and value as a disabled woman and artist.
