Artist information
Kulsumas’ life experience of her disability and how it impacts mental health is reflected in her work. She explores the barriers and struggles within nature and the world, and how this can influence the human body and mind. In her work, there is a sense of subconscious and surrealism. To support Kulsuma's profound hearing and speech impediment she relies on technology. Her current work looks at how technology is impacting and enhancing modern art.
"As an illustrator and artist, I'm currently studying for a Masters of Fine Art at Oxford Brookes. Apart from drawing, my biggest passions are travelling and creating my own graphic novels, building an art business and watching movies, tv series and gaming. I'm hoping that one day I will save up enough to travel around the world and that my art business will be successful."
